I think we will need to factorize the quadratic and then bring all the terms to the left. From there you will need to consider the ranges for x to get to the inequality where it will be negative

Anyone can give solution for this?
The quantity of sulphuric acid initially was 9*0.8 =7.2
Let x be the quantity of water mixed.
% of sulphuric acid after the mixing = 7.2/(9+x)
This % =60%
So 7.2/(9+x) = 0.6
X =3

Use weighted average method and you will find the result.
(100-60)/(80-60)=2:1
Means Acid and water in Ratio 2:1

Hello! Could you pls help me? Then answer is 5, but i cant understand where i am wrong using the formula A= S/n.

I do g=10 sp that

G=10 so that 8=(7,5t+10)/t+1 —> 8t+8=7,5t+10 —>t=2/0.5=4

Thanks!

The book suggests instead: 8=(7,5*(t-1) +10)/t

but i dont understand where my conceptual error is in thinking that if the average is 8 after adding one more exam, the denominator should be t+1 and the multiplier of the old average 7,5 is t, so the number of exam prior the last one.

Total exam is t, You have to take 0.75g*(t-1) first. Then add g to it and divide the whole (0.75g*(t-1)+g)/t and equate it with 0.8

If I am correct we form 4 scenarios - 2 for each mod terms and then solve for each, correct?
Seems a bit cumbersome to solve within 2 min. Do we have any alternate approach?

I have been practising GMAT Focus quant from TTP (mostly medium and hard). Can someone please tell me how close the difficulty level of TTP tests is to the actual GMAT focus edition?

The Official resources seem a tad bit easier, hence wanted some clarity
