Of total 30 players, Senior is 15 and Junior is 15. When u see the pref. 18 is senior team and 12 is junior team. So 15 players in a senior team can be as per their preference, only in junior team, preference is 12 and 15 are to be alloted. so 3 people from Junior team will be forced to be with junior team irrespective of their preference.

It should be 3^4

Since each marble has the option of going into any of the 3 boxes

If the question was that each box needs to contain at least 1 marble, then would the answer been 4×3×2?

Putting 4 dashes to be fillled when there is only 3 boxes, isn’t this contradictory

There aren’t 4 boxes to be filled but instead each marble has the option of going into 3 boxes. So the first marble has 3 options, second marble has 3 options and so on. So it’s 3*3*3*3.

The problem with 4^3 I believe is that you aren’t taking into account that each box can be empty also. That’s the biggest flaw but maybe there are some other flaws too
