I was hoping you could provide some insight on my profile. I would like to get an idea of what schools I should consider applying to. Schools on my shortlist are: UCLA, McCombs, Duke, Foster, Owen. This is a very fluid list and willing so add/delete based on recs.
25 year old White Male
BBA Finance and Management from a probably not well known state uni: 4.0 GPA
GMAT: 650 (Q 44, V36)
WE : Will have 4 years at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor and analyst for two Global Institutional Consulting teams
Community : Serve on the Board of Directors for three organizations: Big Brothers Big Sisters of NM, BBBS Foundation, and the 20-30 Club (a childrens charity non-profit).
Post MBA goals - Transition to work in either marketing or consulting, haven't decided exactly what yet (but I will by applications).

GMAT: 650 (Q 44, V36) great that you have the gpa- as the GMAT score is on low side for these schools-
consider doing some more coaching and retake if you can

Post MBA goals - Transition to work in either marketing or consulting, haven't decided exactly what yet (but I will by applications). certainly you can make the case that after advising- you want to get more involved in running a business- which might be the marketing or product management route or that you want to consult on a wider range of issues- if you go consulting route. I think for this GMAT score, Owen is the best fit; might also look at Georgetown for the social enterprise given your interest in giving back, also look at Kelley, Mendoza, Emory

Hello, thank you for answering! I will be retaking the GMAT in about a month. I feel confident I can bump into the 670-700 range with a really devoted extra month of study. If I could get into that range with most of the improvement coming on the math side, do you think that would open McCombs back up? I will definitely look into the other programs you listed as well. How important are community aspects for an application? This is obviously a strong point for me from the board work, but know that that will be weighed much lower than my currently low GMAT score.
