Hello,
I'm looking for some input if the schools I plan to apply to are reasonable selections with my low GPA.
Undergrad GPA - 2.8 from a top 20 engineering program
Major - Aerospace Engineering, Math minor
GMAT - 740 Q47V45
I am a 26 year old with 3.5 years experience as a customer facing software consultant, initially working for a small company that was then acquired by a $1.3B US software company. As a result of the acquisition there was a large reduction in force and after the dust settled, I was promoted two levels in my first eligible promotion cycle and am due for another bump this fall or early spring. My speciality has been a piece of software used by airlines that manages maintenance for the 787 Dreamliner. I have partnered and led implementations with airlines in US, Mexico, and Southeast Asia. More generally, the software of my company helps other companies develop their own hardware and software and, although I am no longer in sales/pre-sales, I have been involved in every aspect of project from initial scoping, user training, rollout and upgrading.
Undergraduate Highlights: Senior class project winning 1st place in two NASA competitions, two consecutive summer internships at NASA, was part of the effort to re-charter a fraternity chapter that had been kicked off campus (technically a charter founding father)
Career focus - management consulting short term
Target Programs - Tepper, Darden, Ross, Tuck, Fuqua, Kenan - Flagler

Your GMAT score helps offset your GPA significantly. If you have taken and aced core quant courses like statistics, accounting, etc. that would also help as would a compelling reason for your GPA (did you work full time, were you an athlete or have a lot of extracurriculars, was there an upward trend or a higher GPA in your major, etc.?). Another factor would be whether there is leadership/impact in your current extracurriculars. But on the whole I think the schools you've selected give you a good spectrum of quality and 'achievability.' Feel free to send me your resume for a closer look: [email protected].

You have a decent work profile and GMAT Score. I agree with you your GPA is on a lower side, but your GMAT score and work profile offset your GPA.
The list of B-Schools you have mentioned are pretty good and within your reach. Along with your shortlisted B-School, I would also suggest you few more like - Yale, Kellogg and Emory which is very good for consulting.
