Hello! Could you share your thoughts on my chances?
I'm a 26 year old Spanish male and am planning to apply for an MBA on 2015 R1.
Academics:
-700 GMAT (48Q/37V)
-115 TOEFL
-Top 10% (7.6/10) BS in business management from a public Spanish university
-MS in banking management and financial markets from a tiny school in Spain. GND.
-Other languages: Russian (intermediate level) and 3 years of Chinese (basic level). Took 4 and 3 years respectively while studying my undergrad.
WE:
-3.5 years at capital markets/treasury of a mid-sized Spanish bank.
-2 promotions. Once through the career development program of the bank and once through an internal exam in which I topped the 292 colleagues who took it.
Extracurricular:
-Member of the corporate volunteer program for active employees since inception. As a member I volunteer to teach basic finance to people from all types of backgrounds, cooperate with local food banks to distribute and organize donations and help organize charity races mainly focusing on assisting wheelchair racers.
-Member of the corporate trekking group.I help organize monthly treks.
-Running: 5k, 10k and half marathons.
-Certified scuba diver.
Goals:
-Short term: stay within treasury/corp treasury focusing more on capital strategy/structure, 1 time operations, M&A.
-Long term: eventually become the treasurer/CFO of a F500 company.
- Reach schools: MIT, Tuck, Yale
- Target schools: UNC, UVA, Cornell
What do you think about my chances at those schools? Are those the right schools to apply to given my profile, goals and that I'd prefer to study and stay on the East Coast post-MBA?
Thanks!
Best regards,
