1.BS in Finance from a State School (Think SEC)
2. 3.34 GPA, 3.75 business GPA
3.Will have 2.5 years work experience at time of application (a little over 3 years at matriculation) as a tax consultant at a midsize corporate advisory firm (Competitors: Big 4, McGladrey, Grant Thornton) My client base is healthcare and hospital corporations and medical device manufacturers. Extensive knowledge of medical devices, consumables and drugs (who sells what and how they are used) as well as healthcare and manufacturing tax laws and regulations in multiple states and jurisdictions
4.Have already received confirmation that I will officially be promoted to Senior Consultant in November. Currently serve as lead consultant on the team and distribute tasks and projects to other consultants
5.Senior year of college, interned for the Secretary of Revenue and Chief of Staff at the State Department of Revenue
6.Volunteer: Habitat for Humanity, Group Activity Leader at local Girls’ Inc. Chapter, an organization dedicated to bettering the lives of underprivileged minority girls in the community, also serve as a student mentor for one of the girls at the organization
7.Extra-Curricular: Competitive adult league tennis player, in a kickball league with coworkers, and very dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle being an active gym member and practicing healthy nutrition habits
8.Scheduled to take the GMAT Aug 2nd . Practice score as of June 1st on
Manhattan GMAT’s CAT was 700 (42V, 44Q). Striving to get at least a 720 on the real exam

MBA Goal: Transfer my knowledge of the healthcare industry from consulting for hospitals to corporate finance for biotech/pharmaceutical vendors and manufacturers in financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and R&D finance at companies such as: Amgen, Johnson & Johnson, McKesson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Genentech, etc.
I understand my years of work experience is well below the average of most business school students. What do you believe my chances are despite this or what can I do to make my profile stronger so that adcoms will take a chance on me?
