I would like to know which school I could to aspire to get into. I am looking for an MBA in the united states and I would like to work there after so I looking at STEM certified mba's been Rochester my first option. I wouldnt mind taking a non-STEM mba if there are good chances of landing a work (for more time than de 12month OPT).

I would like either to change my career path and work in PE/VC or to work in the same sector I am in but in an higher position and in the USA. I am looking for an MBA start not before August/September 2020 and ROI is a big issue for me since I wont have the money to pay 2 years tuition plus living expenses upfront.

Hi manpaslop,

Thank you for your post. Though growing, the universe of STEM-certified MBA programs is still fairly small. Rochester (Simon) became the first program with STEM designation for its full-time program just last year; most others are related to specific certificates, specializations, or non-MBA masters degree, and even that's pretty limited. So while I see the rationale in your approach, I do think that part of your strategy could very well include regular, non-STEM programs that you perceive to give you a good enough chance at securing full-time, sponsored employment after completion of your MBA.

Your international and professional experience seem quite compelling, though I'd want to learn more about your current situation, as applying as a "freelancer" can have some hurdles. At the same time, if your independent consulting work is robust, you might consider institutionalizing it (i.e., forming a company, even if it's only you), as that would would feel like a much more entrepreneurial and impressive outgrowth of your previous work, whereas the way it's currently presented runs the risk of making it seem like part-time employment. A lot of this comes down to messaging and delivery, too.

I'd love to know more about your personal story, community leadership and involvement, career goals, and reasons for pursuing an MBA (check out this blog post). In addition, your profile is a bit tough to size up from a school perspective right now without knowing your GMAT score or an approximation of where you think your score might ultimately land. I'd be happy to discuss these matters in greater detail, so please feel free to sign up for a Free Consultation:
