Thanks for the responses.
And about not applying for US schools, it's due to personal reasons mainly. But yeah, shelling out a huge amount is a risk i can't afford to take, when things under the Trump admin have an added layer of uncertainty.

Hello Everyone,

Indian, Male here. I just took my GMAT recently and scored a 740 -> Q48, V42, Still awaiting my AWA scores. :)

Acads/WorkEx:
CBSE school -> 88% in 10th, 84%in 12th
Engineer (Tier 1 college not named IIT/NIT) -> 7.1 CGPA
Currently working as an analytics consultant in a company that provides analytics services. Since my client is a Fortune 500 tech MNC, I interact with people from US,UK and AU on a regular basis. My role has a great mix of Business, Engineering and Data science where I act as a bridge between these 3 while providing actionable insights to improve the business (Similiar to a PM role,This is a big part of why i want to pursue an MBA). Although i've only worked for ~3 years, i act as the team lead which has allowed me to demonstrate leadership. Also, won employee of the year award once.

Extra curriculars:
School - Pupil leader, Basketball team captain (Have certificate proof)
University level Basketball player, Competed at inter-zones, which is similiar to NCAA in the USA albeit being a way less competitive league (No certificate proof)
Also, aspiring powerlifter and track athlete (High jump)

I'm looking to apply for the programs at ISB, NUS and NTU. Can someone tell me if these are realistic targets ? and If not, what I lack in my profile ?
Also, opinions on applying to some B-schools in the UK like Oxford Said, Cambridge Judge, HEC Paris, ESADE, IESE ? Are these feasible targets if i get a solid SOP/LOR ?

P.S: I'm new here. Any advice on improving my posts are appreciated :)

Thanks !

Hi Gautham,

Your profile looks good man! The GMAT is definitely good, the GPA looks average and the work experience - as you have explained- sounds competitive. We'll understand better if we see the details.

Your b-school selection is good. But its never my advise to apply to so many. I'd recommend you look deeper into each of these programs- specifically the curriculum, employment and the student composition. Select 5-7 b-schools based on the ones you like and see a fit and apply there. Build solid applications for fewer schools.

Feel free to share your resume with us. I'd e happy to answer your questions.

Below is my profile with a couple of questions:

Need an honest advice! ISB R2 2025

I'm a 27 year old senior analyst working at BCG for the past 2.5 years, post this I was at Merkle Sokrati (dentsu) & have a total of 6 years of work ex.

My acads are as follows:
10th - 9.8 GPA
12th - 80%
CGPA - 7.4 (82%) SRMIST, B Tech Engineer

Have worked with couple of start-ups during college & have received multiple awards in my professional career as well.

I am aiming for ISB R2 this year & have a GRE score of 325.

My biggest dilemma is should I give a re-attempt considering I've a decent professional background & more than required work-ex?

Spoke to a couple of folks, they said 325 GRE won't cut it for R2 and it's better to apply in R3, but my worry is will R3 have enough seats to accommodate a generic profile like me?

Hi sachin97singhania
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, it looks good on the surface. With 6 years of solid experience at firms like BCG and Merkle Sokrati adds value to your application. Your academic background is also commendable, with excellent school and college performance, and your involvement with startups and the awards you've earned demonstrate leadership and initiative.

Your GRE score of 325 is competitive, but I understand your concern, especially when aiming for a school like ISB where the admissions process is highly selective. Regarding a retake, it would depend on whether you feel you can achieve a significant improvement. A higher score would enhance your application, but your professional experience and achievements are also equally important. I would recommend applying in R2 as it allows you to get your application in while there's still ample opportunity for consideration.

I'd suggest reviewing your CV to ensure your strengths are clearly communicated. If you'd like, feel free to connect.

Good Luck!

Hello Gauthamkailash,

Profile-wise, everything appears alright and your chances will depend on how well you are able to portray the strengths in your profile and link your experiences to your proposed goals.

Having said the above, ideally, you should be looking at applying to the European schools (especially Judge and HEC Paris) with additional work experience as they would value it. ISB, NTU, and NUS are good options and you should apply.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

sachin97singhania - how were your mocks/ target scores i.e. did you expect to score higher?

If you believe you can improve the score - applying with higher score in R3 (for ISB) would likely present better chances than the current score in R2.

What are your career goals post MBA, and are you also considering other geographies?
