Dear Stratus admissions consulting,

Please find my profile below. I am aware that my GMAT score is at the lower end of the range for some schools that I am interested in. I am specifically interested in the HAAS EWMBA. The middle 80th percentile of GMAT scores for the Fall 2016 class was 640-740 and our median GMAT score has been 700.

I took the GMAT again but failed to score higher than my first attempt.

Indian Male mid 30's with 7-8 years of experience.
GMAT score of 640, Q43, V35
Bachelors in Engineering from India

2005-07: Developer
2 years experience as a developer at Infosys.
Client was Williams- Sonoma. I quit to pursue a career in design.

2007-2009
MSc in Industrial Design from Chalmers in Sweden - 2 year course.
Internships at Volvo (sweden) and master thesis at Mercedes Benz Design studio in Stuttgart, Germany.

2009-2010: Industrial Designer at a start up design consultancy
- Designer and 3D modeler for a 2 electric wheeler project
- Designer and 3D modeler for the interior of a bus

2010 - 2011: Promoted to Design manager at the same start up
- Designer and 3D modeler for in-house electric car project

2011-now : Industrial designer - Computer aided design or CAD
- Industrial design domain expert for an in house 3D modeling program
- 3D modeling specialist for special projects - latest one with Wilson golf for their reality show - Driver Vs Driver

Thanks for your question- I think you have some really interesting work experience and that could be the strength of your application. Your GMAT is on the lower side as you mention- and when you see a range of scores keep in mind that it is unlikely that someone from India has the lower ranging scores. If you feel you have maxed out on the GMAT score- consider GRE. But also know WHY you are passionate about Haas. I visited there this summer as part of the AIGAC conference and I was blown away by the community there. It is a community of caring people who really want to support each other in changing the world. If you can reach them on an emotional level, I think it can override some of the testing issues. So visit, know the school and the clubs, know how you can add value and that will be your strongest case. Keep the 4 guiding principles in mind- and here is an article from one of our counselors with tips for applying to Haas. https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com ... eley-haas/
And we have alums from Haas on our counseling team so if you want to reach out for a free consult, here is the link to do that: https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com ... b-visitor/
