Hi
ruchik,
Thank you for sharing. You have a good list of target programs, though it is important to keep in mind that one-year programs do not offer the standard recruiting process for those looking to switch roles/industries. They also provide fewer networking, recruiting and community-building opportunities. However, if you do not want to take two full years out of the workforce, they can certainly be a good choice.
Looking at your interest in tech, you may also want to add Michigan Ross to your list, as Amazon and other leading tech companies hire a lot from Ross.
It sounds like you have had some good leadership experience through your role at Intel India and some strong extracurriculars. Given your 10 years of work experience, you will want to explain why now is the right time for an MBA. For reference, those in Cornell's One Year MBA program have an average of 5 years of work experience. While you have surpassed this,
Personal MBA Coach works with many more experienced professionals who gain admission to top programs by crafting a story to explain their roles to date.
If you are open to the idea, however, an Executive MBA could be a good option as well. Our clients who get into the EMBA programs have leadership experience with escalating responsibility over time, something it sounds like you have.
Since you are coming from a competitive applicant pool as an Indian male engineer, a lot will come down to figuring out how to differentiate yourself. The most successful candidates craft unique and compelling personal stories. This is a large component of our support and the area where we find our clients need the most guidance.
Take a look at our
