Hi Emmit,
You are in line for the schools that you've mentioned. Especially considering the fact that you have a degree in economics, and a job as a financial analyst. I'm assuming these are fairly math heavy
Now, I'm guessing you have a fair number of accomplishments at work, and can bring these out in your essays. This is the caveat to my earlier statement.
Regards,
Karthik

Hi everyone,
I took the GMAT today and I am excited to report that I got a 710 (Q41, V46). (Percentiles: 48, 99).
While I am very thankful to break the 700-GMAT barrier, I do feel a little disappointed with my quant score. My highest quant score in practice CATs was a 46 (740 overall), so I hoped to do a little bit better. I am contemplating the idea of re-taking the exam, but I also would like to be done with studying and move onto the application process! Ultimately, my decision to retake comes down to, would the programs I'm interested deny me at a 710, but accept me at, say, best case scenario, a 740 GMAT score? The schools I am targeting are McCombs, Keenan-Flagler, Fuqua, and maybe a couple others in that range. Average GMAT's are roughly 690-700.
A little bit more about myself:
Work experience: 3 years. Financial analyst in the tech industry. I was recently given the additional responsibility of supporting the corporate development team, conducting M&A valuations.
I've lead a group of 15+ coworkers doing volunteer events in the community. Also started an employee group at my company to improve engagement among recent campus hires.
College: 3.95 GPA, Econ Major at a state school in California.
Should I look to retake the GMAT in order to get a higher score to bolster my application? Or is a 710 with my profile enough to begin applying to the schools I'm interested in?
Thank you so much for any input,
Emmit
