I understand your point on idiom issues with E (both as well as) but not sure if this construction in B make sense

I think 'them' is good to refer to its members. Only problem I see and what someone else also highlighted is idiom... "both as well as" ...

So, "the club purchased" a list of things: "buggies, sets and sessions". Does that make sense?

Hmm.. purchased training sessions for them with leading professional golfers.. not sure man !!

Probably "purchased tickets of training sessions for them with leading professional golfers" or "purchased coupons of training sessions for them with leading professional golfers" or "purchased passes of training sessions for them with leading professional golfers" would make more sense to me. I may be wrong though, after all ear is always wrong on GMAT. :)

Let's wait what others say.

It sounds wrong I agree, but now after going through the choices I think the correct one is (D):
>> the club, in addition to organizing training sessions, purchased buggies and sets.

Why D? --> 'in addition to..training sessions' for 'them' (golf clubs)? The ambiguity of 'them' is confusing, so would like an expert opinion

hi..

first just on point of THEM in D..
THEM refers to ITS MEMBERS and it is correct..

Now "in addition to...." is a MODIFIER modifying the "The Town and Country Club"

The sentence can be better formed with the MODIFIER starting the sentence..
In addition to organizing training sessions for them with leading professional golfers, the Town and Country Club purchased, for its members, customised golf buggies and 20 sets of the best golf clubs.

so the T and C club did two things for its members..
1) organized training sessions with leading professional golfers.
2) purchased customised golf buggies and 20 sets of the best golf clubs.....the coloured portion should be PARALLEL.

ONLY D follows the above parallelism correctly

there is a query about E too..
E is also wrong in splitting with leading professional golfers to leading and professional golfers

The Town and Country Club purchased, for its members, customised golf buggies and 20 sets of the best golf clubs, also organizing training sessions for them with leading professional golfers.

(A) buggies and 20 sets of the best golf clubs, also organizing training sessions for them with leading professional golfers -"also organising" is wrong
(B) buggies, 20 sets of the best golf clubs, and training sessions for them with leading professional golfers -One can't buy training sessions
(C) buggies as well as 20 sets of the best golf clubs, additionally organizing training sessions for them with professionally leading golfers -The club bought 2 things; thus usage of "as well as" is wrong
(D) buggies and 20 sets of the best golf clubs, in addition to organizing training sessions for them with leading professional golfers -Correct
(E) buggies and 20 sets of the best golf clubs, and organized training sessions for them with both leading as well as professional golfers -"as well as" is singular in nature. Correct usage is both .... and ....

"purchased" is the key word here. To keep the parallel, we need the structure like that in D or E.
In E, "both...as well as.." is wrong.
D is correct.

(A) The sentence is ambiguous and does not make it clear who is organizing the training sessions. Also, if the Club did two things then they should be parallel—purchased and organized.
(B) The use of for them in the last item in the list breaks the parallel structure in the sentence.
(C) The use of additionally is awkward and the use of professionally as an adverb distorts the intended meaning of the term.
(D) The correct answer.
(E) The last part—both leading as well as professional golfers—makes it appear as though the training sessions were with two different categories of golfers.
