I got off a call with a current student at an MBA program I received an interview invite from, and she mentioned that no one (at least student admissions fellows) should be talking while interview season is is happening.
Does anyone else know about this? I don’t want adcom thinking I was surreptitiously trying to get a leg up on interviews by chatting with current students.
Any insight or advice if I need to clarify will be helpful. Thank you!

I reached out to current students during interview prep and had no problem. It shows that you are interested in knowing about the school and engaging with students but I would be silent about it and I am sure that the AdCom would not come to know if a student is talking to someone unless he/she reports that to the Adcom which is highly unlikely. Everyone wants (tries) to help

Hi there - I haven't heard this type of rule before. In fact, at a couple of programs, student ambassadors even reach out to applicants who are invited to interview, and offer to answer any further questions the applicant has about the program. So, you can continue to network with members of the MBA program's community to learn more about it and to express your interest. Hope that helps!
