Posting a self made question for practice purpose.
Natural fuels X and Y are commonly used by vehicles around the country. Recent tests indicate that complete combustion of X releases more pollutants in the air than complete combustion of an equal volume of Y. Since the government is inclined to bring down pollution levels in the long run, it can be expected that around 30 years from now, the manufacturing of cars that use the natural fuel Y will be significantly higher in proportion than that of cars that use fuel X.
Which of the following would be most useful to evaluate the argument’s conclusion?
A. Whether same vehicles that use fuel X can also use fuel Y?
B. Whether current cars that run on fuel X consume less fuel than cars that run on fuel Y to cover the same distance?
C. Whether the profit margin for cars that use fuel Y will be significantly higher 30 years from now?
D. Whether the natural resources of fuel Y are sufficient to comfortably cater to the demand of Y throughout the entire period of 30 years and beyond?

Not a bad self-made question. I agree, though, that both B and D have merits. In fact, I believe that B would be more valuable to know because it's closer to the premise that the government wants to decrease pollution. If X pollutes at a higher level, but is needed at a lower level, the pollution created from the same trip could be lower for X and the government would be motivated to push for fuel X.
