Hi,

I appeared for GMAT online exam on 17 July 2020 and got my result today on 22 July 2020. As a background, i had scored in the range 690-700 in the official practice tests. However, my GMAT score is way below my expectations.

Total 640
Quantitative 50
Verbal 26
Integrated Reasoning 6

My exam went pretty smoothly and i believed i had done better than my practice exams. Can someone please suggest any good B-schools that i can apply to with the following profile

XII - 93.5 ( First in School)
BCom Hns - 79% ( First in College- Regular college)
Chartered Accountant
Work Ex - more than 5 years with Big 4
No significant extra-curricular.

I was aiming to get into ISB or executive MBA programs of IIM A/B/C

Hi Nikhil,
If you are open to school outside India then you can look into Swiss, German, Swedish and Australian Schools ....
Many schools require both verbal and quant to be above a certain percentile...(80 percentile, I guess)
My advise will be try an intense one month verbal practise and take GMAT again ....
Your Job profile, industry , work ex of 4 year (in i guess Deliote , PWC, KPMG or Mckinsey ? ) is perfect for many schools but Verbal might come as a deterrent ....

Nikhil,

Its a positive that you have scored 50/51 on the quant section. The verbal score is low - score in 30+ would have helped. That said, 640 is good enough to get you admitted to couple of programs in India.
You can target IIMs B/C and SPJIMR. Since you have a consulting background, placing you should be rather easy - a point that goes in your favor.
With a good profile, neatly written resume that brings out your strong points, and clarity on goals as evident from your essays / SOPs, you have a good shot.
If you are still insistent on IIMA / ISB, we would suggest retaking the GMAT.
Feel free to get in touch with us for any help with the admission process.

Cheers !
