Guys, something is not adding up!

After the final wave went out today, we only have 27 interview invites +6 already interviewed. This is 33% of the 100 R1 applicants.
Last year there were 76 people were interviewed, which was 75% of the 104 R1 applicants.

Obviously well have many more people update their status within the next few days so its quiet possible the number can increase a bit, yet I still don't see it passing 50% for R1 this year (at least not until the waitlisters get interviewed)

would love to hear your thoughts

I was thinking about the same thing. May be Ross has become more selective than it was last year. Hopefully it does not happen with the other schools I have applied to.

I was under the impression that the invites will go out today. But anyway, no invite for me either. Very disappointing to say the least.

I was wait listed after interview last year. To strengthen my application this year, I visited the campus a couple of months ago and used cover letter to show how I have been entrusted with more responsibility because of my performance at work. My goals after MBA were very precise and relevant I believe. It's hard to believe that I couldn't even get an interview.

no, by my experience, i meant from reading blogs/talking to people and getting WL'd at Fuqua :|
All right. Thx.

For me, I think it's pretty much over. They don't have interest to interview me again, obviously.

I was also waitlisted with an interview last year and didn't get an invite for an interview this year. My only hope is that Ross doesn't want to re-interview us this year as we were interviewed only a few months ago. Am I being too optimistic?
Can someone shed some light on that?

Is interview a make or break deal for Ross, I had my interview (with standard questions mentioned in previous posts - why MBA, ST, LT goals, Leadership, teamwork stories) but I felt the interviewer wasn't very convinced on some parts though she felt I could bring tremendous value to the table.

I felt on whole, it was ok-ok, but I don't know honestly.Any admits had similar experience before?

Any thoughts are welcome!

According to Soojin's blog & what I heard her say in person at a prospective students' reception, they are de-emphasizing essays (because of the use of admissions consultants and essay coaches) and putting a lot more weight on the interview this year

Hey man, feel your pain. To be honest, you can't ever figure out the process. A lot of the app process is out of an applicant's control. Many times great interviews result in dings and other times even the bad ones fetch a bulky acceptance letter.
Keep the faith.

Hi All - I received an invite and really wanted to fly out (from the west coast) to Michigan to interview. After looking into flights and talking to my boss about work obligations, it is looking like flying out to Michigan won't be an option for me. Therefore, I had two questions for you all:

1) If you can't do an on-campus interview, what would be the next best thing? I was leaning towards an alumni interview because I feel like talking to someone in person would be best, but wanted to get everyone's thoughts.

2) If accepted, does Ross hold a "Go Blue Rendezvous" prior to the deadline for submitting your deposit? I would definitely want to visit the school before committing.

Thanks!

1. Yes, you can do an alumni interview in your city. Alumni and campus interviews hold equal weight in the admissions process, so choose whichever that works best for you.

2. Of course there will be a GBR before the deposit deadline! Ross wants to make sure you have a chance to visit and see firsthand what they're all about before you commit.

I am planning to attend Super Saturday and am flying in to DTW at 4:30PM on Friday, Dec 1. Is anyone else arriving around that time and interested in sharing a cab to Ann Arbor? This would be much preferred to waiting for public transportation.

I am wondering if there is any way to review the activity online? I havent received an interview invite and am getting a little psyched, what if they sent me an email which went to trash and was deleted there? Then I would not know if I was invited to the interview.
I should be able to see atleast something online!

Has anybody received emails with denied or waitlist?

Guys,

Anyone from New Delhi who has been through with the interview or is scheduled for interview in the future ??????

I interviewed early this month at New Delhi (though I stay in Gurgaon). Mine was an off-campus with a very senior Ross alumni (he did his MBA in 1992). You could find my debrief on 10th page of this thread. Let me know in case you have any other specific questions.
