Hey guys. I had a question around the video interview. Rotman website says it takes a maximum two business days for them to send the link once the application is submitted.

How long did it take for you all to get the link? I think I will be able to submit the application only by Saturday morning. The r2 deadline is jan 11th(Monday). Will my application be considered as missed R2 if the video link does not reach me by monday?

Or do they look at meeting the deadline as just the application submission date(saturday morning in my case).

You have to submit everything and your letters from your references should be submitted prior to the r2 due date if you want to be considered among the r2 applicants. Best of luck.

Hey guys - looking for some inputs here for the written assessment.

Say the question is something like this - Write an email to a hiring manager you met at a recent networking event requesting a follow-up meeting

1. Would you simply just imagine up a name and start off the email?
2. In all my professional settings I have used - Hello <name>. Does that work alright or are there any recommendations that you guys have?
3. What are the recommended best practices here, if any?

Something like "Hello, Alex" sounds professional.

I would advise you to not overthink it since you are under a time constraint to finish this essay. Really imagine that you have met this person last weekend and follow up with an email just like you normally do :)

Hi,

I have a query. Both mock and actual should be taken in one sitting? or Can we do mock first and then after a day do the actual?

Thanks.

Once you click the link you have to go through the entire exercise in one sitting is my understanding.

For mock practice I would suggest just using the questions in this bank and recording yourself using your computer camera app.

shahpharshal for your TWR - "Elevator pitch to a recruiter / hiring manager", was it expected to be written in an email format? Do they specifically call out that it should be an email?
