Hi All,

I have quick doubt regarding Tuck's Round 1 application deadline which is mentioned as September 27, 2021. According to the college website, if you submit your application before September 1, 2021 you get a guaranteed interview invite.
Is that the only advantage of applying early? Does anyone know if the decision notification date and the deposit deadline date for those who apply before September 1 will be any different from the other R1 applicants?

Thanks

Hi Anshit13, that’s correct, the only difference is the guaranteed interview. Decision dates are the same for R1 applicants. There is a similar guaranteed interview for R2 if you apply earlier than the R2 deadline.

Anshit13, For Round 2, If you submit your application by 01st December, you are considered for guaranteed interview.

I think last year, it was only for Round1 applicant but this is a great news for Round 2 applicant.

Hi all, is there any disadvantage to applying for the guaranteed interview deadline? Is it viewed any less?

samsung1234, not sure I fully understand the logic behind this. There is a reason why they offer the open interview (and this is to support you). If it is disadvantageous or not it depends on how strong you think your interview skills are. It is definately great for someone that would think that otherwise would not receive an interview invitation, due to lower stats for example, but I don’t see how it can work against you, unless you are really unprepared.

akoltsidopoulos, I completely agree with you. I saw this being mentioned on several occasions and I was starting to have doubts. Something about, it’s better to get an invitation from them than the guaranteed interview because then you know they like you. But the way I see it, the former is a guaranteed interview even if they weren’t so hot about you, while the latter may result in no invitation

samsung1234, OK I see, it works more as a psychological verification for the candidate then. Either way, they say that they are weighted equally, so I don’t see the disadvantage (only if someone blows the interview early on I guess!)
