Hey guys!

Will be sending in my application soon for the MSc Finance program.

Undergrad: Bachelor of Commerce from an Indian University
GPA: 5.9/6
GMAT: 700 (48Q,38V)
Internships:
1) 1 month in the Corporate Finance Department of a Big4
2) 6 weeks in an investment management firm
3) 2 months in the accounts department of a mid-sized firm
Other activities:
1) Student teacher at the university
2) 2 years of volunteer work
3) 2 years in the university Editorial

Any chance of getting accepted?

Hi,
You have a really strong profile! I know that Indian applicants usually have great GMAT scores, so it is possible that your score is lower than that of some other applicants with similar backgrounds. However, I would assume that you will get accepted :)

Wow, your profile sounds brilliant!
I’ve also applied already (but for Economics) and I’m checking my email inbox every day.

So excited about their decisions regarding our applications!!

Do they usually release decisions earlier than the deadline? I received an email from the school mentioning that I will be informed about the decision by end-Dec.

From what I have gathered, many people have received their decisions earlier than the final deadline (Dec 22nd). I would assume that we will receive the decisions around Dec 15th.

Hey Guys,

I am applying for Economics but I am afraid my GMAT results will kill my chances.

Bachelor: Economics & Business Economics in Germany, 13.8/15 (Best in Class)
Working Experience: 1 year student trainee in consulting, 2 years Strategic Project Management
GMAT: 670 Total Score, Verbal 42 (96th P.) but really, really messed up the quantitative part with 39 Points (37th P.)
Languages: TOEFL 115/120, TOEIC 990/990, Fluent in three other languages (B2 or higher)
Scholarship: German Academic Scholarship Foundation (biggest and oldest foundation in Germany)

You think I stand any chance without re-taking the GMAT?

Honestly, I would retake the GMAT. You have a really strong profile, so why would you take a risk? With a 700+ GMAT you would most likely get accepted.

If it's any help, I was in a similar situation. I scored 670 on my first try due to time management issues. I knew that I could do better, so I booked the next available exam date on the very same day. Then I studied for 2 weeks and took two practice exams (750, 770) during that time. I ended up underachieving in the verbal part (had 40 seconds for the last 3 questions), but I still scored 720.

Thank you! It is, especially when SSE is free and LSE has hefty tuition fees
