Hey guys,

It's still a bit early, but I'm pretty sure I'm applying to SSE. Here's my profile; let me know what you think.

- Industrial Engineering from a Latin American university (88.85/100 which is close to 3.4 GPA)
- Two exchange semesters abroad (University of Florida and Universidad de Oviedo)
- Had my own startup which closed this year. (won several national awards)
- Currently working as Innovation Analyst at one of Latin America's top 50 companies developing a project I proposed when I was still in school. (A sustainable way to bring electricity for people off the grid in rural areas)
- 700 GMAT
- Extracurricular: president of an organization that develops sustainable projects for people in need during two years at my university.
- Currently advising social entrepreneurs

Looks good for the most part, but why this specific school? Are you only applying there? And what are you hoping to do after?
I would say your profile has a lot of potential but I think the adcom will be interested in the above as well, so would like to hear your thoughts on that if possible.

Sounds pretty good. I'm applying for the MSc Business and Management. When did you do the TOEFL?
14th October. Hope it's over 100, if I'd failed it would be quite impossible to apply on the early deadline

Hey guys,

I've also applied for the MSc. in Economics yesterday.

My profile:
- GPA ca. 3.7/4 (a German 1.4) in Business Studies from a German university
- TOEFL 109 (and Italian & German :) )
- GMAT 650 (poor, I know)
- dual studies, apprenticeship as an industrial manager at Siemens AG
- therefore 3.5y of working experience in different departments of Siemens (e.g. 3months in California)
- own profitable food blog
- different scholarships and awards (e.g. McKinsey Firsthand and German scholarship programs)

Although my GMAT is poor, I hope to be admitted, as SSE is my first choice.
Hope to see you all next fall!

Hi eldoggy,

actually, your profile sounds great!
The application tool of SSE only allows to submit two references (you have to provide contact details of the referee). So I chose one academical (prof of my uni) and one professional (project manager of my company).
If I were you, I'd highlight extracurricular things such as your company, tutoring, stays abroad.

Good luck with the GMAT (and the TOEFL?)!

(btw: What do you think of my profile? I've posted it above)

Thanks for the response foodie123, first time using this forum.

I think you have a very strong profile, about the gmat, do not worry much (I have a friend who got accepted with 660, he had a 3.9/GPA and two internships with CITI and JPM though). I think as long as you recommendations are great, and your essay is strong you should be okay (that's what he told me).

I do not have to take TOEFL since I will graduate from a school that was taught in english :D
Hope to see you next fall!!

Thanks as well!
I just wrote the GMAT two days ago and I'm still struggling, as I'm not that satisfied with the results :D. I really have to calm down, so thanks for the motivational words!

Ah, yeah, I forgot. Lucky you - one test less means $250 more in your pocket!

I'll keep you updated as I expect notice in December!
