Just got an email from Stanford - they've released their class of 2014 profile. Almost had my heart in my mouth there

Yeah I got that too and it was a real punch in the gut. I really dislike the way they slowly trickle these interview invites out, leaving us all hanging for weeks and weeks. I know there are legitimate reasons for it, but it makes for a VERY stressful time. Nothing substantive here on my end yet. It could be 4 or 5 more weeks of waiting...sigh

Second; the Harvard approach is probably less stressful overall.

If there was a way to punch Stanford (anonymously) I really would.
Actually, I disagree - their way certainly has its merits, which I gladly accept in return for some more stress.
With Harvard, you know very quickly whether there is any hope left, which allows you to plan accordingly - but Harvard isn't that much faster, considering their deadline was more than a week before Stanford's.
And since the acceptance rate is so dismal, you need a contingency plan anyway...
Thanks! Status on ApplyYourself has not changed. Received an email outlining details to contact the interviewer.
Congrats on the invite!
It's pretty uncomfortable that the status didn't change. I am wondering how it works - both HBS & Stanford use ApplyYourself yet HBS' statuses do change.
Others who got an invite, has the status changed on your ApplyYourself page?
Actually, HBS's statuses don't change. Mine still says submitted, and I've been invited to interview. In fact, right under where it says "Submitted" it says "Your application is under review. MBA Admissions will contact you if we need further information. Please note that this field will not change again until the notification date."
So at least we can all cross "obsessively log on to applyyourself" off of our list of things to do!

Right, HBS status did not change for me either. I get the exact same message, and was invited to interview also.

Sleepless nights; all stanford mails in India come in at 3am indian time. And I end up getting up everyday, this emailer was a nasty one.
Maybe I can help you guys with some of your stress with the Stanford e-mails :
The mails like the ones we just recieved about the class statistics comes from mba.admissions@gsb... whereas the interview invitation comes from interview@gsb... and the title of the e-mail is "Stanford MBA Program Invitation to Interview"

People, any tentative dates by which we will hear from GSB?
Hopes are dwindling as time ticks by.

Try and chill a bit. It's not even November yet, and I read that they keep sending out interview invites right until a couple of days before the decision date. (Sorry, won't look for the link now, please trust me. )
Does anyone know if the application status changes to something like "review" when they've started to review it? Or does it remain at submitted till you've been "invited for interview" or until a decision has been released in December?
