People, any tentative dates by which we will hear from GSB?

Try and chill a bit. :) It's not even November yet, and I read that they keep sending out interview invites right until a couple of days before the decision date. (Sorry, won't look for the link now, please trust me. :))

Actually I remember an admissions officer saying that as well. They must enjoy reading our comments of turmoil.

Are you living outside the US or originally from another country?

Nope, 100% domestic. I know of a few other invited as well, but very few people overall.

Good luck with the interviews and do let us know how they go.

Hi all - I received an interview invitation late October and interviewed this week with an alumnus (I am located in the US). As this thread from last year was helpful for me in preparing for the interview, I thought I'd give a brief run-through of mine. Overall, the interview was very informal and conversational, and the interviewer was very open to a continuing dialogue instead of a set list of questions and answers. He started by asking for a general timeline of my life/resume from high school onward, followed by several broad questions:

- Why do you want to get an MBA
- Why Stanford
- Tell me about a failure
- Tell me about a success

For some of these questions, there were brief follow-up points. I then asked a few questions about his experience and the atmosphere at Stanford, to which he provided personal answers (not admissions lines). Overall, the interview lasted almost exactly an hour.

I hope this is helpful for you!

Based on posts in this thread, I'd wager 30-40% of invitations have gone out. Of course, these will continue to go out till the end of the month - will be interesting to see if there's a "wave" in the middle of this month (based on prior years)

Was interviewed as well a couple days ago :

The interview was in three parts, the first consisted of going through my resume and asking questions about it (especially my work experience), the second was the part where he asked the classic "Tell me about a time when..." questions, and the last part was just an open discussion.

The questions I got were :
Why MBA?
Why Stanford?
Tell me about a time when you experienced great leadership.
Tell me about a time when you experienced terrible leadership.
Three strengths and three weaknesses.
What fascinates you?

The alumi was rather stern during the first two parts, he really opened up at the end.

Just from this thread it sounds like a lot of interview invites haven't gone out yet.

I actually think many of the invites have gone out already. Compared to previous year's thread, seems lots of people are reporting invites already now compared to last year. But then again, the data subset is so small.

Seconded. Would think it's in the 40% range. Historically there's been a flood of invites in mid November - so wouldn't be surprised to see say another 30-40% over the next two weeks and the remaining minority trickling in after.

Like previous years it seems primarily international applicants have heard. They do comprise >40% of the class.
