Question for all the round 1 applicants... When approaching essay 1, did you break the essay up by answering question A, then B, then C, or did you incorporate all three questions into one flowing essay? Not sure it matters either way but am curious to see how other applicants approached this. Appreciate any responses

I did mine all as one essay with all three parts blended in. Im more curious how many people write an essay for essay 3 vs video/powerpoint. I have to imagine adcoms look more favoribly on non written. Any current students able to weigh in on that?

I didn't include any reference to the sub-questions in my essays. In fact, I didn't even answer them in the A-B-C order. I think the point is to have a nice, flowing essay that answers all three questions. I submitted a creative piece. As far as I know, they do favour such submissions over an additional essay. They don't want to read another essay, that's why they ask for something creative. Plus, you show you are serious about the school by coming up with something unique here.

I feel like if they didn't want a written option, they would specify that. By giving applicants the option to be creative however they choose to be, they are letting everyone speak for themselves. You could be a banker who's also a published poet...sending in a written poem could be creative for you and still shows Adcoms another side of you. Bottom line: Do what works best for you and your application. If you're creative in your own right, Adcoms will see that regardless which medium you choose for this essay. Posted from my mobile device
