Is it a good preparation approach to practice question sets based on question difficulty levels (from low to high and especially in quant) and not moving to the higher difficulty range before I achieve a satisfactory level of correctness (say 80%) on the lower level of difficulty?

Absolutely, yes! I attended a free GMAT Focus Edition webinar by e-gmat earlier today where they said the correlation between accuracy on medium level questions and percentile is more strongly positive than that of accuracy on harder questions and percentile.

Not sure to what degree this is true, but it should be easy to verify this with score reports from mocks

Consider that it is hard to design a good tricky question - the GMAC will naturally have at their disposal more medium-level questions than hard level questions. So if you can consistently perform on medium level questions, you are likely going to do well even if you are less consistent with the harder level questions, since they will make a smaller proportion of the total test.

from the entire GMATClub questions directory, can we safely say that the questions with tags 500-600 level are the "medium-level" ques? or should I assume the ques with tags 600-650 as well here?

also, how much should I prepare in geometry & coordinate geometry? (time/ques type/difficulty level)

GMAT does not have these levels tbh. It’s made up. But ideally I treat the 600-700 as medium questions and 500-600 easy questions.

Hey guys, I am looking for a study partner for Quant. I will be studying from IST 10pm-12am almost everyday. Kindly dm me if anyone is interested to prep with me. I have already given GMAT Focus once and Classic GMAT multiple times, so people who are preparing for Focus, and are on their last stages of prep or are fine tuning their strategies are welcome. We can connect via Google meet for our sessions. Thanks!

Is this still open to join? I’m interested.

I am exclusively using GMAT Club questions beside the OG questions for Quant. And for Verbal, GMAT and LSAT questions are more than enough.

For GMAT club question bank questions, under the focus version section, it looks like I have to pay for those ones. Are there focus version questions that are free on GMAT club?

Haven’t experienced this, but I have experienced being logged out in the middle of a mock (twice). Fortunately I could pick up where I left off

If you’re taking the test at a centre, it’s unlikely you’ll face this issue. Though many folks have had similar troubles with the online GMAT
