Submit Application with Unofficial GMAT score report ? [#permalink]

Hello All,

My GMAT is on 16 Sept and I am applying for schools (Kellogg and Booth) with deadlines 20-21 Sept. I wont be able to get the official score report by the deadline date.

Can I apply using the hard copy score report I get at the Test Centre ? Is that the unofficial score report ? Are there drawbacks while applying with unofficial score report ?
Finally, how will I get to know if the official scores have been received by the School ?

Appreciate any help on this.

No drawbacks to submitting an unofficial score at the time of application submission in fact many will do the same. If admitted the school will request for your official score report. They will not need the official score report unless you are admitted

I also have an accepted GMAT score, which has already been sent to these schools.

Will it result in any confusion / discrepancy if I submit my unofficial score report ?

No, if the scores are the same from the unofficial score you list and the official score they receive you will be fine. Just make sure all of the information is accurate and in sync, basically do put the wrong score down in the application or try to be misleading here. That is the only way they will be confused

One last question :)

There is a high proabability that my AWA section would not have been evaluated by the deadline dates.

In the application form, what should I then write under the AWA Scores section ?

hey agbsharma ,

I think that should not be a problem. I believe schools do understand that if the exam is taken a couple of days before the deadline, getting an AWA score is not possible.

I did apply to one of the colleges without an AWA score. Let's see what happens.

The unofficial gmat score includes the other schools I listed to send scores to. Should I include this on my application? I am applying early decision to Columbia.

Having other schools included on your form should not pose much of an issue, especially if the schools are well aligned in ranking and focus areas
