Decided to join Tuck and decline an offer from Tepper. It was a very hard decision though. Hopefully this would open up a position to those on the WL.

Those who went to yesterdays session ,can you please throw some light on what happened at yesterday's session at Mumbai.It was supposed to be information/networking session I believe.

Any one on the info session?. Was there anything told about the invites or is it a lost cause for applicants like me from India?

I wanted to apply to the Tepper School for the Fall of 2014. Unfortunately I could not apply by the 2nd round, and the website clearly mentions that all international students should apply by that round.

I took my GMAT a little late and hence was a bit behind in the application process. I would like to get some advice, if there’s a chance that the admission committee will still consider my application.

You should ask admissions. They might be concerned that it is difficult to get a visa in a rather short time, but maybe you can convince them that it does not apply in your case, for whatever reasons.

I don't think so. They'll keep inviting people until mid February and beyond.

"Thank you for your application to the Tepper MBA program at Carnegie Mellon University. Your Tepper MBA application has been processed and is now complete and under review by the Admissions Committee.".

Has anyone received this email? what does it mean?

I am curious to understand the school details in your profile.....It shows McCombs 2016(D)....did you get a ding from McCombs?? I am surprised because I don't think anybody is dinged by McCombs, everyone is waitlisted....Can you please throw some light on this....??

Even I was dinged without interview at McCombs in R1!
If you say that everyone is waitlisted by them, that doesn't bode well for my confidence ;)

Perhaps you're thinking of Tepper? To my knowledge, they waitlisted everyone from R1, even if they didn't get an interview invite.

The R2 deadline is not binding on international applicants. Here's the reply (excerpt from one of the online chats with the Tepper admissions team), when asked about this:

Tepper-James: No, it's not binding - we'll do our best to work with you whenever your application is ready - at a certain point, though, it becomes potentially difficult to procure a visa in the timeframe needed and join class at the start of august.
