Tepper ($$) vs Anderson [#permalink]

Congrats on your admits!!!

I would not hesitate heading to Tepper with a $60K scholarship (that's awesome by the way!)I think you will have just as easy of an opportunity to get into Tech recruiting with quite a bit more geographical diversity than Anderson. The only thing you will miss out on is weather...

Tepper has better consulting recruiting than Anderson and places a larger % of folks in consulting (30% for Tepper vs 22 for Anderson). Of course there is a bit of a hring question of US vs. International students but that question exists in any program and it outside of Tepper or Anderson control unfortunately.

u1983 or kinjiGC - did you have any feedback or input for an international student? nainy05 - do you disagree with this choice? What would yo do?

Thanks so much!

heard from a current student that Anderson is also stem certified now. No special curriculum needed- it's just like tepper.

I think Anderson is working on it. I have not heard an official confirmation or seen one published yet. Let me know if I missed it. I keep a list of all STEM programs here https://gmatclub.com/forum/top-stem-mba ... 13573.html

They must want to keep it secret then :shh:

Many schools have announced that they were moving towards the path of stem internally but then it took them about 3 to 6 months to actually come out with an announcement officially and my guess is that they have an application or something else that’s conditionally or unofficially approved but not quite fully... I think the chances are every Top 20 program will be stem certified within 12 months but I don’t know if I would hang my decision on “internal sources”

I think that's a fair assessment. Consulting is really difficult for international students irrespective of schools, so I'd take that with a grain of salt (In spite of landing a consulting offer being an international at Anderson). Think of factors that matter the most to you - location/coast/finances and make a decision. You can't go wrong bothways! All the best.

Thanks BB, you have summarized it perfectly.

$60K is a very good scholarship and normally Tepper doesn't provide that much. Tepper really wants you to be there.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Product management (Tepper has 40%+ into PM in my class of 2017)

Thanks for your thoughts. I am also wondering in the current immigration scenario, I would like to consider international brand/recognition if I need to pursuit opportunities outside the US. Was wondering which school would be better suited for that. Thanks!
