Lot of discussion here,
you don't usually see back to back modifier and they are generally not correct/preferred in GMAT..
so lets see where do we see these back to back modifier and how is it corrected..

First the MEANING issue..
one thing is clear..
The bolas spider stores a pheromone-like secretion in its sticky globules, which hangs from silken threads dangled from its front legs, and this secretion lures.. blah blah

A. The bolas spider, in its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs,
Back to back modifier - in its sticky globules and hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs

B. Hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider, in its sticky globules,
Modifier issue... what is hanging.. NOT the spider but sticky globules

C. In its sticky globules, which it hangs from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider
Correct..
In its sticky globules, which it hangs from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider stores....
so "which it hangs from silken threads dangled from its front legs," correctly modifies 'sticky globules' and where secretion is stored is clear - in its sticky globules

D. In its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider
Again back to back modifier

E. The bolas spider, in its sticky globules, hangs from silken threads dangled from its front legs and
Meaning issue..

I am unable to eliminate B or C as I don't see any error in either. IMO, although both B and C have different meanings, due to the ambiguity in the original sentence, I am unable to eliminate either.

Dear experts, I may have missed something. Kindly point me in the right direction.

got confused here ..
what is actually hanging ::: lf we take original sentence "The bolas spider, in its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs," -- seems as spider is hanging ...
but OA --- sticky globules are hanging..
how to tackle this ..

what is actually hanging ::: lf we take original sentence "The bolas spider, in its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs," -- seems as spider is hanging ...
but OA --- sticky globules are hanging..
how to tackle this ..

I am having doubt between c and d why because both are one and same....
C uses which a non restrictive modifier while d uses verb-ing modifier rest all is same between two choices ...

I will choose d ..

But if expert discuss these then it will give coneptual clarity.. ...

Hi Viv007,

Let's take option D alone: "In its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider"

Appears to modify "the bolas spider" (see only highlighted): "In its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider".
To be correct 1: move "hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs" after "the bolas spider". "In its sticky globules, the bolas spider hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs"
(or) To be correct 2: see option B.

Appears to modify "globules" (see only highlighted): "In its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider".
To be correct 1: Remove comma between globules and hanging. "In its sticky globules hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider".
(or) To be correct 2: See option C.

B. Hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider, in its sticky globules, -> Modifier error. Incorrect.
C. In its sticky globules, which it hangs from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider -> Modifier error is corrected. It is better. Let's keep it.
D. In its sticky globules, hanging from silken threads dangled from its front legs, the bolas spider -> We have two modifiers back to back, it is not better than C. Incorrect.
E. The bolas spider, in its sticky globules, hangs from silken threads dangled from its front legs and -> dangled and stores are not parallel. Incorrect.

So, I think C. :)

Really confused by the OA.
What does hang on silken thread? In C, which it hangs...I think IT refers to the spider, but not the sticky globules, so I guess it should be case that the strider hangs on silken thread. But if so, why is B wrong?
