VERB error..
"The resultant ...." Is singular so requires IS
Modifier error...
Although they ....... HAS to modify something getting damaged ..
Damaged X and Y although they are not attacked.... is wrong

Split 1:
The resultant auto immune disease requires singular Verb 'is' and not 'are'
Eliminate - A,C,D
Split 2:
E changes the meaning by moving the modifier damaged.

Hence B
