The miscommunications associated with a decentralized model may be so harmful they hinder the ability of some companies for performing tasks at the required pace and the result is to develop a strong customer base.

A. they hinder the ability of some companies for performing tasks at the required pace and, the result is to develop
So X that Y - Will require a that - Incorrect

B. that they hinder the ability of some companies to perform tasks at the required pace and, as a result, to develop
to perform, and, as a result, to develop - Parallel

C. that they hinder the ability of some companies to perform tasks at the required pace, the result of this, they are unable to develop
Second "they" doesn't have a clear precedent

D. that they hinder the ability of some companies to perform tasks at the required pace, and results in not developed
Illogical construction - not developed a

E. as to hinder the ability of some companies for performing tasks at the required pace and, the resulting in being unable to develop
So X that Y - Will require a that - Incorrect

"So harmful..." will always follow "that".
"Ability of some companies for" is incorrect. "Ability.....to" is correct preposition.
"To performing" is grammatically incorrect and the correct phrase is "to perform".

Option B rectifies all the above mistakes and hence should be the correct answer.

Official Explanation:

There is a simple grammatical rule we can use. In this sentence, the phrase so harmful is meant to introduce the next section of the sentence, and therefore should be followed by the word that. In addition, the correct preposition to follow ability is to, not for. Also, to performing is grammatically incorrect and should be changed to to perform.
