To entice the most gifted painters, some galleries are suggesting a larger percentage of commissions, letting artists choose the gallery most suited to them.

(A) commissions, letting artists choose the gallery most suited to them

(B) commissions, artists choose the gallery most suited to them to themselves

(C) commissions and letting artists choose the gallery most suited to themselves

(D) commissions and let artists choose the gallery most suited to them

(E) commissions and let artists choose the gallery that are most suited to themselves

‘Them’ is ambiguous with multiple referents and we can remove C and D on that score.

Whether ‘themselves’ refers to commissions is suspect. If we replace ‘themselves’ with commissions, it does not make any sense. Even galleries don’t fit in. Therefore it can only be the proximate artists, which is logical.

B is a run-on

C is the best choice.

D. 'them' is the problem.

E. SV error

The logic behind choice A does not flow with me. How will "a large commission" let artists choose the gallery they want? I don't see the logic behind this. Instead I think they should be parallel actions. In addition, I think if artists choose what they want, it is for "themselves" and not "for them". Should be C

A - Correct. This sentence is parallel “are suggesting” and “letting” use the same verb form –ing.
B - Incorrect. This sentence does not make sense because “themselves” refers to commissions.
C - Incorrect. This sentence does not make sense because “themselves” refers to commissions.
D - Incorrect. The sentence is not parallel; the verbs “are suggesting” and “let” are not in the same form.
E - Incorrect. This sentence does not make sense because “themselves” refers to commissions.

Majority is far away from correct choice A.

To entice the most gifted painters, some galleries are suggesting a larger percentage of commissions, letting artists choose the gallery most suited to them.

The purpose of suggesting a larger % of commissions - to entice the most gifted painters.
But how?
By letting artist choose the most suited gallery to them.
Now in my opinion, themselves could work much better instead of them. Them seems to refer either artists or some galleries. Use of themselves could correct this doubt.

What's your opinions.
