Considering the fact that there are tons of IDIOMS out there, and it is not possible to go through all at once and simultaneolus remember them, why not study 5-10 IDIOM's on daily basis.
Though I understand there is no need to memorize these IDIOMS as such, but why not look at these IDIOMS along with examples and try to master them.
Feel free to chime in with examples from OG, Verified Sources or made-up sentences consisting these IDIOMS.

Hello sarasjain20 I will try to give my perspective here:
"allow" means "to permit" or "to enable"
'allow for' means 'make allowance for' or 'make provision for'
And hence there is a difference in the way you use these two words.
For your sentence: Holidays are allowedfor kim to watch the movie...
I think it depends upon your intention here, if the intention of the sentence to make "holidays" as the provision for Kim to watch movies then it should be correct.
However, if the intention is that - Kim is allowed to watch movies ONLY on holidays then it is more about permission and hence the sentence would be incorrect.
Again, this is just my perspective and experts may opine. Hope this help!
"concerned with" ==> means involved with or connected to
"concerned about" ==> means worried about
"concerned at" ==> means worried about
"concerned by" ==> means worried about
Conform to ==> The idiom involving the verb “conform” is a little more unusual. When I say I conform A to B, then A is usually something under my control (my behaviour, my habits, etc.), and B is some kind of more universal standard or set of rules. The connotation is that B is based in some sort of authority, and A is something which should be governed by this authority.
Connection between x and y ==> There is a strong connection between his grades and his efforts
Note: Connection of is un-idiomatic and is incorrect
consist of ==> Atomic Theory states that all material objects consist of atoms and that the macroscopic properties of objects depend on the microscopic interactions of these atoms
consistent with ==> The Federal Judge argued that his recent controversial ruling was consistent with what the framers of the US Constitution thought about a right to privacy.
contend that ==> They contend that they can decipher the code
Note - Contend -- to be, contend the ability to.... ===> both are incorrect
contrast A with B ==> In contrast with the malls, small shops have fewer schemes to offer.
in contrast to A, B ==> In contrast to the Malls, small shops have fewer schemes to offer.
Feel free to come up with examples associated with these IDIOM's in order to strengthen the concepts further.
