Further strengthening the student community are the more than 100 active student organizations at Columbia Business School, ranging from cultural to professional to community service–oriented. ^But it's not always a "failure" that keeps you out. I mean, if you apply with too little work experience and get dinged, I wouldn't sum that up as a failure. With a ~15% acceptance rate they could ding you for anything: too little WE...ding! Already reached their quota for ex-consultants this year...ding! You're not an int'l student and they need more of those...ding! There are many reasons out of your control that you could be rejected for. In those cases, all that you can do is gain more leadership experience and skills, submit early the next year, and hope for the best!
