What I've heard is that most schools (not sure this applies to Columbia) tend to review high GMAT people first. So if you have a lower GMAT, it doesn't mean you were rejected, it just means they haven't reviewed you yet.
From all the responses, this is how I interpret things:
Strong GMAT, avg - strong GPA = interview invite within 2 weeks End up getting dinged = notification within a month
It seems like ED folks will know one way or another by end of Oct... ya ya ya?
i got my interview invite after 3 weeks. admissions, for a while at least, were waiting 3 weeks. so if it has been that long, then i wouldn't fret.
Seconded - I got mine after 3 weeks as well

That's maybe because you guys applied early... seems they did expedite the process a bit post mid sep - all the candidates who reported timelines seem get interview invite between 14-16 days...
For those of you that received offers -- did anyone get any scholarship dollars? is that communicated during acceptance call?

Last year was a mix. A few people they really liked got Fellowship money at their acceptance but most came later. I think it was Feb-Mar timeframe that the majority of decisions are made and that includes ED and RD applicants. So don't be discouraged if you didn't get anything yet. I got my acceptance call in late Oct and didn't find out I got scholarship money until mid-February, right before the admitted students event.
Did anyone who applied on 10/2 get an invite? if yes, what time did you submit your application and when did you get the email?

Nope, I applied on 10/2 but am still waiting here...it appears that some people have received invites. Last year many invites went out in waves on two days 10/19 and 10/23, think dings went out on 10/24? I am hoping that is the case and we hear tomorrow or Monday!!

Can someone explain to me how the timeline works for RD during this crossover/overlap period of the adcom reviewing ED apps and RD apps coming in (oct/nov RD submits).
I thought I understood, but now I feel like I am just confused about the process.

They're not reviewing RD apps until all ED apps are finished
