Does anyone know how hard it gets to be accepted if you apply in mid-late December? Is it significantly harder, especially for an average-stat applicant like myself? I'm debating applying since it might just be a waste of my time and money based on what I've heard about their rolling admissions policy.

Are you referring to something specific or just the fact that Columbia has rolling admissions? What exactly have you heard? This caught my eye as my plan is to submit mid-december.

I can't imagine the chances decrease so substantially that it wouldn't even be worth it to apply!

When I visited Columbia, a member of the admissions staff(Matt), who led the mini info session prior to the class visit, encouraged us to apply as early as possible. He mentioned that they receive a ton of applications in the first week of January since its the deadline for merit scholarships. I'm sure that it is more than worth it to apply in December as planned, however you may slightly increase your chances if you apply a little earlier. That said, I wouldn't sacrifice quality in your application just to submit it.

Got the call from the adcom yesterday around 2:20 pm EST but I missed it and they called me back around 5:15 pm to let me know that I'm admitted!

Applied: 10/2
Interview invite: 10/23
Interviewed: 11/9
Interview Report Submitted: 11/10
Accepted: 11/14

26 M Reapplicant (NYC Resident)
710 GMAT
3.65 GPA
3.5 years Management Consulting experience

I applied super late last year and was rejected after interview. Best advice I can give is to apply early and really demonstrate your passion and fit for CBS.

Thanks to all for your support on these forums. Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

I am also looking to apply to Columbia in Dec/Jan. I'm sure they anticipate that a large number of applications will flow in closer to the deadline, and hence they apportion seats/admits accordingly. Right?

My feedback was submitted 11/15

Alumni are really invested in the school from what I saw.

Waiting for the decision now.

Yep also got an Email saying that they have begun to evaluate RD.

How many ED applicants are still waiting for an answer? I'm really hoping to hear today, even if it is a rejection.

Got the call this morning at 11:30am CT.

Here's my timeline:

Applied EOD 10/2
Invite to interview 10/23
Interviewed 11/8
Feedback 11/11
Call 11/18

Don't give up hope! I was feeling really down on Friday after 4 days had passed, but I don't think there's a science to it.

Your feedback was in after mine (mine was in early am on 11/11) and I just found out this morning. It was almost 5 full business days, plus the weekend. Don't give up!

so i submitted my CBS RD application yesterday (yay) and immediately realized i forgot to attach a picture (boo).

anyone apply in ED that did not attach a picture? honestly, does it matter, and to what end?

the picture is referred to as optional in the application, and the "review" part does not highlight the lack of picture, and after calling AdCom today, they said they can attach a picture to my application if i wanted to email it in.

however, i'd rather not be seen as "careless and didn't submit one during my application", so i'm toying with the idea of not sending one in at all and chalking it up to purposely not sending.

thanks for indulging me during this eternal wait for everyone!
