I'm in the same boat. Wasn't really expecting a scholarship given my scores and grades, though.

Anyone still in the decision making process?

I'm about 98% set on SC. I want to go into Entertainment so Marshall is pretty much a no-brainer. I'm slightly curious about what's going to happen with NYU and UCLA but, even if I got into both, I honestly believe I'd still matriculate to USC.

For me, the students, faculty and admin have all been amazingly helpful, open and honest about everything. The Trojan Family truly lives up to the name. In the end I feel like I could actually make a mark on Marshall and benefit FAR more in years to come from that strong bond with other Trojans - in the industry I'm going into, that counts a lot. Further, I really believe in the changes that Marshall is implementing in their course structure and schedule.

Anyone else?

My background is in entertainment and I also plan to continue working in this industry. USC is definitely a strong choice and all of the major film/television companies recruit from the school. :)

Can you anyone speak to the strength of the USC network? I have heard about it being pitch around a lot. If possible, do you think the network can help my girlfriend (soon wife) find a job in Los Angeles? We would like to move to Los Angeles, but she is worried whether she can find a job in Los Angeles.

I heard Georgetown McDonough has job searching resources for spouses of students. I wonder if USC has something similar.

Any thoughts?

Hey everyone,

Anyone get a binder yet? Someone in the other forum living in LA said they got theirs - wondering when us East Coasters can expect it.

Also - when does orientation / class officially start? I saw one calendar that showed August 22nd though I've been hearing from current students Marshall starts up in July. Can anyone confirm that?

Cheers!

If you take a look at the Marshall Facebook page, it shows that they started last year's orientation on July 22nd.

If anyone is wondering about the time frame for when to expect an admission packet in the mail, I got mine yesterday 4/4 after being admitted on 4/1 online (I'm in OC, CA). Hope this helps.

Hi Dragoneyes, if you really want to stay in LA, then USC shall be the one to choose, considering two years of networking in DC/MD but not in LA, will that bring you and/or your wife any better opportunities to a job? Maybe not. So, like the Trump said, Location! Location! Location! If you want to stay in LA, then go to LA first, and then all the network will start to work, otherwise ... really not very sure. Also, please remember not one school will provide you a one-stop service, it is mostly your individual networking efforts and willingness bring you what you really want. Hope this helps a little.

I'd agree to that. Admit weekend was pretty phenomenal and I felt a strong connection to everyone I met. Being one of many admit weekends I made it out to - this was so SO refreshing.

I think the program is on the up and not being haughty about it.
