Will Yale show us some love today?

Posted from my mobile device

I believe so. I received an interview invite late yesterday!
Hopefully today will be a good day for many. Anyone else receive an invite yesterday?

Hey Peter, congrats on the interview invite!

Quick Question - did your status change on the SOM website from "submitted" to "invited to interview?" My email decided to delete everything and naturally I am paranoid about whether or not i received an invite (wishful thinking, perhaps)...

Hey Alex
My status changed to "Interview Requested" and then when I logged into my account a new field appeared where I could set up the interview. Try looking at your account.

Hi everyone,

Anyone on here interviewing on November 7th?
I am coming from out of town and will be landing on the 6th. If anyone wants to get together before the big day let me know!

For anyone who is still waiting, be patient. There is still plenty of time. Wishing you all the best!!!

Congrats! Can I ask when you submitted? I didn't get my final transcript in until October 1 (they said they couldn't review it until they received it), so I'm wondering if that might have something to do with not finding out yet.

I submitted on 16 September and had my last recommendation letter in on 19 September.

I received my invite yesterday. I submitted my application on the day of the deadline and I thought my videos went horribly.

Looking at past years, there are a number of things that seem consistent. Yale interviews 30% of the applicant pool and admits 20%. If you're interviewed, you have a 2 out of 3 chance of being admitted. That said, they also interview fewer applicants in round 1 than round 2, probably because the less qualified applicants try to get an edge by applying early. The percentages vary, but in 2012 they invited 40 applicants from round 1, and last year they invited 49. Only 24 have been invited so far in 2014.

My guess is that in the next few weeks, another 20 or so people from GMATclub will be invited to interview. I have no idea when or it what order, but it would be unprecedented if they interviewed only 20 of those who applied in round 1. Whether they review application in the order they arrive or cherry pick their favorite applicants I don't know. I'm not seeing a pattern yet.

I hope becuase that would maximize our probability to get in. But browsing in this forum make me feel like that's not true at all since lots of people seems to have been invited for the interview.

Said that I hope that everyone of us in this forum will be called for the interview. Just wondering about the percentages mates :)

As far as I can tell, everyone on this thread receiving an invite also updated their profile to reflect that. Since the percentages are automatically generated, they would include all the people you mentioned.

I spoke with an admin officer at one of the events and she told me that they review applications in pools. She said it was highly possible to receive an interview up until a week before the decision date.
