still no reponse from Yale SOM. Anxious to know the application progress. Do you think if it is wise to solicit the feedback from adcoms?

Dont give up hope yet. I checked last year's thread and there were some big waves of late invite in mid-nov. for many applicants including some high profile applicants (HSW admits).

Don't give up. Wait till the end. They interview something like 35/40 % of the applicants and looking at the statistic on GMAT club (taking into account also people that
wrote but didn't update their statistics) it seems that they still have to send lots of invite.

Be positive.

I'm in the same boat. I work in education and neither of my supervisors had ever written an MBA LOR before. I was counting on the Yale invite as evidence they didn't kill my chances, but I haven't heard anything yet.

That said, the number of invites so far isn't close to past years, so either people haven't got around to updating their stats, or the process isn't close to over. Last year's big wave of invites went out 10/25, so maybe the next few days will be kind to us.

I read most of the Yale thread from last year, and I'm pretty confident that there are plenty of invites left to come. Definitely no one should be giving up hope! (But waiting is SO difficult...)

On a different note, I just received this email:

"Greetings from New Haven. My name is Kristen Shockley, Associate Director of Admissions at the Yale School of Management. Congratulations on your invitation to interview for admission at Yale SOM! I am traveling to London this weekend and am delighted to extend an invitation to dinner hosted by Tim Collins '82, CEO and Senior Managing Director of Ripplewood Holdings LLC and Chairman of the Yale School of Management Board of Advisors. The small group dinner is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. this Sunday, November 2, at the following location:

Scott's Restaurant
20 Mount Street
London, W1K 2HE

The event will be a wonderful opportunity to connect. I hope you'll be able to join us. Do feel free to bring your significant other and RSVP by registering for the event below."

Is anyone else on this forum attending?

I will definitely go, it seems like a good opportunity, but am I correct in assuming then that Kristen Shockley will conduct my interview the following day? If so, is it reasonable for me to feel slightly apprehensive about extending the time I have with which to do something dumb like spill all over myself in front of her or something? I just concerned I'll be so on edge during the whole dinner!

A piece of feedback from the assistant dean who held the reception in Shanghai last night: According to him, some more than half were reviewed, which means still many to review and to invite. So don't lose hope.

Did he say anything about whether they're reviewed in the order they're received?

According to him, it's purely random, at least not by the order of arrival. And he indicated that there would be several times of reading.
