Got admit mail today with $$. Feeling very happy. Took GMAT 3 yrs ago, could not apply anywhere till now. First univ, first admit, first scholarship...awesome feeling...!!!

I got 75% tuition off. That is as good as it gets with Katz I think. Applied to UNC, Darden, Olin, Wisc-Madison as well. But Katz is the place I wanna be

If anyone wants any help or 2015 joinees want to connect, I would be obliged.

I am into technology and was interviewed by Dana(career services in technology area) and Jim(executive in residence).
Very pleasant people...mostly generic questions...stay confident...

Hi Bhanu,

I am working in Marketing and Sales since 2+ years now
Undergrad in MU Engineering(EXTC) branch, 2012 batch
Gre: 325
Toefl: 108

Intended major: MBA in Marketing( with communications & digital marketing concentrations)

I have a slightly unconventional profile compared to typical applicants from India.
Hence finding it bit difficult to source relevant interview references. Anyways, planning to prepare for it similar to job interview,with focus on why MBA.

Did they ask anything about undergrad scores ?

Exp- 6 yrs as IT consultant at IBM. E-commerce/sales n distribution.
Intended major- FT MBA with info systems.
That's my profile in short.

Nothing out of the ordinary was asked...be conversative. ..animate your responses with examples. ...they just seemed to jump out of their chair, stop writing and give 100 concentration towards me whenever I said "I wanna support that claim with an example". So yea...animate your responses...

Given your profile, I don't know who is gonna interview you...but I don't think they will ask anything about undergrad scores...but if u have a flaw in your profile somewhere...just prepare for an answer to that as well...they are not gonna hold anything against you or try to break you open...
The interview revolved around workex, post mba and why katz...

Questions I was asked in the interview..
-walk me through your resume
just tell them about your profession...what you do, have done...what got u promotions...tell them something between the bullet points in your resume...
-what are ur post mba career goals..why mba now...
tell them both short term and long term goals...what u expect from mba...what has your career till now taught you...why is it the appropriate time for an mba...
-what are u good at...
tell them your strengths and how these strengths add value to mba class...give them examples about your strengths...where u showed them in your life till now...
-why katz...very important question...
tell them plus points about the program...how will these points help you fit in...like small class size...your desired specialization...
-tell us a global business problem which needs to be addressed.
just think of a common problem associated with your field...tell them what could be done to resolve that problem...
-do u want to ask us anything. ..
This is a trick question...so keep your questions ready about the college...program...city...

P.S-if you say that you have connected with an alum or current student. ..remember the names and which class they belong..cos it is a small program and everybody knows everybody...

I completed the App on the 24th of October, Interviewed on the 30th of October, and am still waiting for a decision. - It's a slow death.

As I was told, the career services and adcom meet every tuesday. I submitted app on 29th sept, called on oct 1, interview on oct 23 and decision on 28th Oct around 1 PM EST

I could not sleep between Oct 23 and 28...Kept refreshing mails every 1 hr, even in sleep...I know the wait...It is KILLING...

Applied for MIS concentration.

I have my interview scheduled on 19th November.needless to say I am a little nervous.Can anyone come up with questions that they were asked in the Marketing interview?
Also when they asked you to walk through your resume what all points did you cover?

My questions - Walk through resume, Why MBA, Why Katz, Example of leading a team, Example of a research project, Why (my field) and what job (in my field) I would pursue as an internship, What do you predict will be your greatest challenge at Katz.

The resume walk was their intro question - it should relax you. They just want to get to know the real you. Focus on all your points, but keep it concise and well articulated.

Anyone heard from the adcom?

I interviewed with katz on the 22nd of October and I'm yet to get a reply... been over a month now. Interview went great though, so i'm hoping for the best.
