I would like to raise a practical question -- if the start date is January 9, will it be too late to plan to fly to Fonty after Christmas (Dec 26 for example)... there are stuff that we need to do only after arriving (bank, embassy, housing, settle in, etc), so I'm not sure if two weeks will be enough for this. This doesn't seem to be addressed in any student guide (e.g. suggestion on when to fly in).

Thats something to think about..

Also, can someone let me know how long does it take(processing time from embassy) to get student visa (for singy and for fonty) ?

I disagree. When attending university in a new country, I managed all the above in a week - and I was 18 at the time.

Now, as adults, i think we will be fine to manage it ourselves in a week. Don't forget that week 1 is orientation. It's meant for all this admin stuff.

Getting to fonty, singy after new year should be fine leaving you plenty of time to get organized.

While in Singy, extremely small and relatively new country with english as the primary language, I don't see a problem settling in within a week.

For Fonty, I am unsure.

You might want to strategically arrive just in time for everyone else to tell you what to do, since everyone has done it. Hehe.

I suppose once your slot is confirmed, you should receive a formal admission letter from INSEAD so that you can apply the student visa online? Instead of going through the application process only after touch down? I might be wrong.

Anyway, having two luggages weight 30KG each for a person on travel visa can sound a bit fishy.

Oh yea, I bet its easier for european student to move to Fonty?

Once you pay the 7000 Euro, INSEAD will issue the attestation letter which can be used to apply for a long term visa. However, the Residence Permit has to be processed there in France. The student guide does say that you can have the processed on the first week.

You're right -- it is easier for several EU countries as they do not need this residence permit

Hi All,

I'm a current INSEAD student from the US about to graduate in a month. I was one of the many followers of this thread when I applied. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance regarding the application process. I'm currently a student ambassador for INSEAD so I've gained a lot of understanding of the program and process.

Best of luck to all of you!

Hi Tketwin
Just wanted to ask - well I'm a late entry as been waitlisted for LBS and have given up they will get back to me so wanted to apply for a different school in Europe. I was thinking of applying for R3 (my referees actually did my reference for 2015 which can be carried fwd) which is due by June 17th - but im just wondering whether its a suicide mission if most places are gone by this time? Am I simply better off waiting 9 months? I'm ready to apply but I dont know if it would be worth it if there are going to be absolutely no places in this round....thanks.

According to INSEAD, each round has about the same number of slots... R4 may have fewer places. Based on the MBA Connect numbers (which has a directory of admits) this is true. The only difference is that most scholarships are mostly allocated on R1 and R2 so you should definitely go for it if you feel you're ready
