Completed my interview yesterday on campus. Had a very pleasant conversation with a 2nd year student. Lasted just over an hour. Asked a lot of questions, but nothing that stumped me. Did get an interesting question I've never heard in an interview - "What surprised you about your most recent performance review?" Otherwise it was mostly the same questions that everyone else listed - Goals, Why MBA, Why Duke, How will Duke help you, etc.

For EA, calls started around 9 AM EST. Also, I think they do mention the scholarship money over phone call. It is also part of the official letter you will get later in the day.

Duke calls the same day because they release final decisions by 11 PM EST of that day. I don't think I am wrong, but that is what I gathered so far

An Indian Male here, but non-IT.

Need some help regarding whether I have a shot at Fuqua in R2

GMAT: 680 (Q48, V35)

WE: 4.5 yrs with EY in consulting & research (excellent career progression and coveted awards); 2 years as an entrepreneur (presently running my own textile business - manufacturing, trading and wholesale - sales of INR12 million and reaching INR16 million this year but unable to turn a substantial profit)

GPA: poor (59.4% :oops: ) but graduated in business from a top-tier college of Delhi University

Extra-curricular: Quizzing since college. Have won at university-level and corporate-level (Have even won quizzes that were aired on national TV)

Post-MBA goal: Short-term: IB/Consulting, Long-term: PE

Hey - not really the correct forum to post this on. I believe there are profile evaluation forms specifically for this type of thing.

Overall though - Fuqua will probably be a bit of a reach if both your GPA and GMAT are below average for the school. Your work experience sounds good though and I'm not too sure what quizzing is, but it sounds good as well. No reason not to give it a shot, but I'd focus my efforts around schools in the 20-30 range maybe? Hard to tell based on that information.

Some advice though - nail down your short-term goals. IB/Consulting is very different and recruiting for both starts right away. You don't actually have to know, but you should be able to convince an adcom that you do. I would highly recommend retaking your GMATs. Since your GPA is low, you need to prove you can handle the workload.

So from my understanding they call all day Thursday and release decisions by the late night deadline. With the interviews the emails were sent around 4pm so maybe same time for decisions?

This came up earlier in the thread. It seems that they begin calling international applicants before it gets too late in the evening, then move on to domestic applicants later in the day. That's not a certainty, but last year's thread seems to support this

Hey guys!
To everyone waiting for decisions tomorrow, the calls start around 8-9 AM EST, starting with the far east, and going west. Applicants in India got the calls around 9 AM EST in the EA round. I think the earliest east coast call was around 9:30-10 AM EST. The official notification comes out later in the day, I think it came out around 3 PM EST for EA. That is when you know if you have been waitlisted or dinged.

I know how nerve wracking this is, trust me, was there a month and a half ago. All the best to everyone! Can't wait to welcome you all to the Class of 2018!

Are calls supposed to go out today? I saw someone posted earlier in this thread that calls were supposed to go out on deadline day.
