Hi there,
You've reached an old 'Calling All Alberta University Applicants' discussion which is now

Welcome all Alberta University full time MBA applicants! Use this platform to know each-other, build network, exchange ideas/information, discuss application strategies, share interview /school visit experiences, and boost one-another's morale to face the tough admission process.
We request all applicants to add Alberta MBA program to your MBA timeline so that the applicant stats displayed in the first post reflect true picture of admissions. While adding the program, MAKE SURE you are setting it for graduation year i.e. 'Class of 2019'.
Welcome to the Alberta MBA discussion and all the best for the application process. Feel free to tell a little bit about your professional background, post MBA goals, and reasons for applying to Alberta. Hi Manoj,
Can you pls give us your thoughts about job prospects in the Healthcare/Pharma/Biotech industries? Thanks for helping.
Hi, I'm Sean replying to the question on job prospects in the healthcare industry. Edmonton and Alberta have a large healthcare service delivery sector, however biotech and pharmaceutical work is small compared to healthcare service delivery, e.g. hospitals, health clinics, etc. If you did want to get into health service delivery you will need some Canadian experience, however UK/Australia/NZ/US experience may also be accepted. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Is there any other industry where someone can work in the Supply Chain/Operations functions post-MBA?

Hi,
There are lots of Supply Chain Opportunities in Alberta in a multitude of industries. I have a Supply Chain background and my most recent position before entering the MBA was in Oil and Gas. You may want to look into the Supply Chain Management Professional Designation (SCMP) through the Supply Chain Management Association to compliment your MBA. I believe that in recent years Alberta has had more graduates from the SCMP program than any other province in Canada. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
I am looking to apply for Alberta.I have more than 8 years of experience in Supply Chain and operations management.I have Gmat score of 620(Q-44,V-30).I want to know what are my chances if i choose to apply for the program.

Hi,
Finance/investment banking is not a huge sector in Edmonton. There would be some opportunities but it is quite a competitive industry. There would be some internship opportunities but again they will be very competitive.
I wanted to ask about telecommunication industry in Alberta. How it is ?
