POLL : ISB VS NUS VS IE Spain

Question

IE : I spoke to current students, recruitment is a challenge. However, the college rank is 8th now in the world, making it a global brand.

NUS : The tuition fees is a bit lesser than ISB. The recruitment chances seems to be decent, though it isn't a campus placement like ISB. Post recruitment, it will be easy to repay
the loans as the fees is lower compared to Singapore Standards and the Average Pay in Singapore.

ISB : I am currently working in UAE and I am afraid that in ISB my post MBA salary will be same or lesser than the current package after such a huge investment.
However, to be honest, its that emotional sentiment to get in the league of IIM/IITs

. Also, the fact that India is such a huge market that has lot of opportunities.

I am in the same boat as you. NUS vs ISB. Although I have spoken to NUS MBA grads and they've said employment propects are limited. Of course if I graduate from ISB I would start earning by May 2018, whereas with NUS it would be January 2019.

Can you please briefly mention your profile? Singapore is a small market and having the right profile is the key to choosing NUS.

Singapore is a really small market. In my experience, foreigners are more welcome in rising industries for which there is little talent locally such as IT/Fintech/Analytics/AI etc. etc. If you come from an industry that has existed in Singapore for long time such as Finance, Manufacturing etc. it'll be difficult to recruit here since over the years sufficient local pool has developed. Makes sense?

Makes sense I guess. But does this equation change if you go to a INSEAD or like a Kellogg and want to work in SG? What are your thoughts on that? Thanks.

I would choose IE Spain, because it has the best ranking worldwide and the alumni is really strong.

Yes, the situation will definitely change if you're from M7/LBS/INSEAD. BUT again, Singapore is a skilled based market. If a company has to choose one guy who has the right skills + NUS/ISB MBA compared to some1 who also has right skills + INSEAD/LBS/M7, then the brand of school will help. INSEAD/LBS/M7 will not act as a proxy for lack of skills. Also consider INSEAD has a huge alum base in Sg so that helps to quite an extent. For M7 the brand is too strong in Asia region.
