Hi there everyone
it's great to be here ^_^
About me:
my name is Kamyar, I'm a 23 years old Iranian student, in the last year of my industrial engineering bachelor. I've been working full time while studying for the past year (as an accountant) and I also have 2 year of military experience (mandatory military service). I'm also studying for the CFA level 1 in this December.
My goal or why I'm taking the GMAT:
my goal is to apply to a top MSF program in Europe, the US is out of the question (for now) since president trump's Muslim ban has affected the job prospects in a really negative way.
Intended GMAT score:
top 5% or 730+ (in all honesty I'm shooting for 760+ but I'm pretty sure i won't be able to achieve it)
Intended exam day:
February of 2018
why a journal / why now:
I know from all the other times I've tackled a big project, that keeping an online journal and surrounding myself with people who share or otherwise have already achieved my goal is a truly rewarding experience and it helps me keep my motivation high.
I'm also looking forward to your advice and potential question (not that i know much about GMAT, maybe about myself and Iran or something!?)
and although some of you might think spending 10 month on GMAT is a bit excessive I think that it's never too early to start, I can always take it sooner if I see I'm ready. and well I have somewhat of a unique circumstance.
being from Iran there are no GMAT exam centers in my country! so I have to go to turkey of UAE just to sit for the test. and considering the physical and mental toll (stress, waking up early and going to the airport, visa check, etc...) that taking GMAT in a country I'm visiting for the first time is gonna have on me and the relatively high score I want to achieve I think it's better to start as early as possible.
anyway, it's the first day of my studies and I hope we all have a fulfilling GMAT jorney and achieve our goals.
thank you for reading so far.
