Is anyone else not able to access the Full Time application? When I select Full Time it states that there are no terms available..

I think the portal isn't live yet. It will be soon that's for sure. Do you plan to apply R1?

Any reapplicant here?

I was wondering if we could get a Ross admit from last year or a current student to chat about their experience with us. What do you guys think?

I'm happy to talk about my experience or answer any questions about the application process as an international applicant. I'll be matriculating at Ross in the fall.

Thanks so much for willing to help and contribute. I have a few questions for you.

Last year's Ross essay was entirely personal in nature. How did you approach the question? How was your interview experience?

Also needless to say: congratulations on those stellar multiple admits! Could you also share a bit of your background?

I'll do my best to answer. In reverse order:

Relatively standard banking credit risk background, 29yr old Chemistry grad w/6 years work experience (2.5yr undergrad LDP, 2.5yr manager, 1yr senior manager), British national, previously applied to LBS and was rejected after interview (the interview went really badly).

Ross was actually my last interview but my first and only alumni interview this year (I withdrew from Fuqua before my interview). My last year LBS interview was also alumni so was a little nervous because the guy who interviewed me was not particularly nice or friendly and seemed to approach it like I was something off the bottom of his shoe although I was a lot more confident that the year prior as I'd worked out how to sell my story (very important) and knew what to do/not to do. The actual interview questions are no different to those you'd find on clearadmit in terms of what they ask (usually set questions by Ross adcom) but I spent over an hour talking about things both Ross & non-Ross related so came out of it pretty confident.

The personal question whilst personal, is still a business school question so I just approached it like any normal interview question in term of how I answered it. The adcom are just looking to find people who are more than just GMAT numbers and promotions and for me I talked about overcoming long term knee injuries to complete a life goal in one of my hobbies (cycling), just framing it as what the problem was (injury), how I went about the process and what my achievement was, and finally what it taught me and how I have applied that in my personal and professional life.

Hi,

Thank you for such a detailed response. I am glad so many admits worked out for you and it is clearly LBS and Fuqua's loss. Your essay format also ties in nicely with the question asked and I am big believer of logical responses so I can see why adcoms liked your story. Thank you for sharing. Can I ask what made you choose Ross over Anderson/Johnson?

We discussed a bunch of things but the breaking news (to be disclosed later in Soojin's blog) is that Ross will do the team exercise for India in R1. Michael also touched on the importance of GMAT with scholarships. Let me know what you guys think. Come out of the woods!

What are our thoughts on uploading a photo? I see the application has it as optional and I wonder are we talking fun like "this is me climbing a mountain" or "this is also my linkedin picture, with a blazer and button down". Or like a resume probably don't upload an image?

I am giving my GMAT in OCT (fingers crossed as my prep hasn't been very good so far but targeting 720-730) and will apply fr R2.

My Profile:
Indian Male. Living and working in Canada in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Process Engineering leader and supervise 8-10 technicians and technologists.
Masters degree from a Canadian university in Materials Science and Engineering.
WE: 4 yrs in India in a small start up firm. 4 years (at the beginning of the MBA program) from Canada. Primarily in Plastics/Oil and gas/Automotive and manufacturing.
I live in southern Ontario, Canada and I am only a 3 hr drive away from Ross.
Planning a visit in mid November. I can share some of my campus visit experience and some pictures then.
I am a huge college football fan and will def be going to a Wolverines game. Can let ya'll know how that went.
I am sorry for not being able to go right away as I am waiting for my PR from Canada and can not leave the country.

Is there anyone else in this msg board who is applying to Ross from Canada or near Toronto?

Cant wait to see you guys and get started on this exciting venture!!

Hi ari.banerjee,

I am also from southern Ontario, about an hour away from Ross, applying for the Weekend Program though. I have requested the Adcom for a class visit, which they'll schedule sometime in September. Will share my experience when that happens. Coincidentally, I too work for the automotive industry. Good to know there are more people like me applying from Canada.

Hi Smig,
Its nice to meet you. Maybe I can accompany you for a campus visit depending on my immigration status at that time.

May I ask why the weekend MBA? Is your company sponsoring your MBA? :)
Thank you,
Ari

Thank you,
Ari

Sure, keep me posted. :)

Couple of reasons why Weekend fairs better for me -

1. I don't want to quit my job. Weekend is a lockstep program and will allow me to balance both work and MBA and get the same degree as FT. So I can start paying off my loan right away while gaining work-ex. No, not getting a sponsorship from my company. Also earning in CAD but paying tuition fee in USD doesn't help much, so I want to be able to pay off my loan asap. Leaving my job and moving to Michigan will only increase costs for me.

2. I assume you are planning to move to Michigan, but are awaiting PR from Canada? To maintain your permanent residence and in future apply for citizenship, you will need to be in Canada for a certain number of days per year for the next 3-5 years (I am not a 100% sure how it works for different categories, but is applicable to me).

3. I have approx. 8 years of work-ex and am married. After reading through the class profiles, I realized that weekend/part-time makes more sense for me in terms of fitting-in with the cohort.

However, I do know a lot of people with the same profile and position as mine who are opting for FT. So I think it comes down to what makes sense for you personally and professionally.
