Please find below my profile for evaluation. Highly appreciate for this great help.
Nationality: Indian; Male 27 yrs
Undergrad: Btech Civil, from 5th ranking National institute of Technology, with CGPA 9.15/10
Work experience: Employed in India's premium Oil &Gas Consultancy (a Public sector undertaking) since 2012 (work exp of 5 yrs)
The entire work exp can be broken down into 2 parts :
1. Construction site experience
a. Posted for 1 year at the esteemed site for Strategic storage of Crude oil (at Mangalore India) wherein facilities were being constructed to store crude in underground caverns. Job responsibilities included contract handling, site inspection (including inspection in underground rock caverns) , quality control, implementation of safety at site.
b. Posted for 1.5 years at a refinery expansion project ( Kochi, India) wherein entrusted with the civil structural works for the important Crude distillation unit of refinery. Job responsibilities included preparation of a green field site, handling of a contract amounting to 35 million USD which involved leading a team of 15 persons, site inspection, progress monitoring & expediting, material inspection within & outside site, billing ( completed billing of the value of 14 million USD) quality control.
2.Design office experience ( work exp 2.5 yrs , continued till date)
a. Leading a team of 6 persons ( for the civil portion) to provide EPCM services for the upcoming Refinery & Petrochemical project in Nigeria ( largest project in entire Africa) Job responsibilities include designing of underground facilities & utilities, preparation of drawings , imparting training to the Nigerian counterparts , progress monitoring, providing assistance to site construction engineers, constant interaction with client.
I don't have any on site International job experience.
GMAT: yet to be taken but targeting a score of 740 to 750
Extracurricular: Not much to show. Have received professional training in Harmonium ( completed 4 professional exams), actively performed in various cultural activities during schooling, during college my team was one among the top 3 teams of west India in the INSDAG competition( an all India competition for steel design). Also our family is into agriculture business & I actively participate in it providing inputs for better production & marketing.
Post MBA goal : I want to shift from Oil & gas industry ( as all countries are moving from oil towards more environmental friendly options) and enter into strategy consulting and have an inclination to enter into M&A roles ( would explain more efficiently while writing my essays)
Havard & Stanford I believe are too high an expectation given my normal profile. Whether I would be fit for Columbia, Kellog, Yale or Ross?

Requesting for a profile evaluation as I prepare to apply for CBS (open to J term also), Stern, INSEAD, Boston College & Cornell this June 2019. 5 of my uncle’s and cousins have taken their MBA at Columbia and heavily recommend so it is my top choice. Followed by Stern and INSEAD.
Background:
Dual Citizen: Spanish and Filipino. Born and raised in the Philippines. 3 years MNC Marketing.
Age: 25 upon matriculation w 4 years experience.
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from a Top 3 Local University.
Was elected College President for the college of business in my senior year, leading an organization of 80 student officers. Results: Awarded Best College Government in the University for that year.
GMAT: 670 (studying for a retake this May)
GPA: 3.17/4 - Graduated Top 11% in my college and number 2/55 in my course.
Career:
Job #1: (18 months)
- Management Trainee Program at a Fortune 500 Consumer Goods company. (top 150)
Completed an 18 month management trainee program with stints in field sales, corp finance, demand planning, brand marketing and trade marketing.
Highlights include:
- Co-led the launch of two new big flavours for the top powdered juice brand in the country, internally launched commercialised a new trade spend monitoring tool to the sales team which significantly reduced overspends for total company.
Job #2 (13 months):
- Brand Manager at a Fortune 500 Consumer Goods company (Top 50) for the top dish detergent brand in country and the world’s number one air freshener brand.
Highlights:
- Co-led two multifunctional teams with my boss. Together the teams were composed of 5 nationalities based in 3 countries. Navigated high turnover to land one of my brands as the fastest growing brand in the company by the time i left, peaked with 3 straight months of record revenue. For the other brand, I entered at the start of a major crises and led the analysis and recommendations to close a turnaround OND-Q1 quarter after months of market share loss.
Current:
- Entrepreneur. Founded an e-commerce shoe brand with two friends from college, first official year of operations tracking to do just under $100,000 in gross revenue (operating in a 3rd world economy). Although admittedly with lots of (expensive) stumbles along the way as we handle all aspects of the business from product development and supply to web design and digital marketing.
- Also do an E-Commerce Management and consulting for several other local SME fashion businesses.

- Amateur Boxing - competitive, former national archery champion (high school) Photography, Fashion and Shoe Design.
