ANY HELP?

For me, I felt that answer choice A was defining "drastic" as belonging to the gap, whereas answer choice B is using "drastic" to define the gap. B is the appropriate choice in this case. Hope that helps.

Lets evaluate each answer choices,
(A) that statistics for both post-graduate education and median income indicate as drastic of--------> "drastic of" :shocked
(B) that statistics for both post-graduate education and median income indicate as drastic------------> correctly convey the meaning as drastic gap. As we say there was a drastic change in his behaviour after the result.
(C) that both the post-graduate education and median income statistics indicate as drastic of----------> "statistics refers to both PG and MI , not only to MI. same problem with drastic of. wrong idiomatic usage
(D) of both post-graduate education and median income statistics that indicate as drastic of--------------> Same problem as in C
(E) of statistics for both post-graduate education and median income indicating as drastic of-------------> Again drastic of, I will kill you :x

Can someone kindly help me with understanding the meaning of the sentence. Also statistics is the subject of the sentence in the 2nd part and so it should be followed by a singular verb right

There is a typo in the sentence; (I think so) indefinite article should not be placed there I guess (see marked it in red), otherwise I dont get this sentence structure :-)

MANHATTAN REVIEW OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:

The easiest thing to figure out here is whether or not to use ‘of’ at then end of the option. Would you say he is as melodramatic of a man as any I have seen, or he is as melodramatic a man as any I have seen? The latter is sufficient. That means you can eliminate choices A, C, D and E. Choice B is the correct answer.
