IMO E
Don't know what M.B is but in this context it is clearly countable.

So E is a clear and concise sentence with correct use of number for countable M.B.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I guess one of the clues to solve this question is the use of "due to", we know that due to modifies a noun phrase.

therefore I was confused between C & E. Could anyone explain whether by reasoning is correct ?

A has an incorrect word order. To be correct the option would have to read ‘More Manolo Blahniks than ever. . .’. B unnecessarily adds the phrase ‘than previously’. C omits the words ‘number of’ before ‘Manolo Blahniks’. Manolo Blahniks are countable. Therefore use ‘number’ and not ‘amount’. E is correct.

I am confused between option C and E. Even though C ensures the number gets increased, it loses the "more than ever" which seemed to be the central idea to me. I am not saying E is wrong; I am just saying C is equally right.

Thank you for your explanation. I still have one question regarding Option E. Since Option E doesn’t mention anything relating ‘more than ever’, isn’t it changing the original meaning of the sentence?

I don't think E has the legit sentence structure unless that comma followed is is also underlined.

Here as we have due to that must modifyy a noun so the suject off the sentence must be a noun .. so E option is the one

I'm afraid the OA doesn't work. We're explaining what some increase is due to, but there is no clear sign that any increase exists for us to explain! E would work if it started with "the": "The great increase . . . is due to . . . ." This would make it clear that there actually is a great increase to be explained. Similarly, if we added something after "great," it could make sense: "A great portion of the increase . . . is due to." As is, E doesn't make sense.
