I heard that Rice Jones hosted an event for Consortium applicants and those who attended will receive their admission decision early. Anybody have any insight into this?

I didn’t apply to Rice, but I believe that most Consortium applicants receive their admits a little earlier than other applicants this round, due to the Consortium draft.

What’s the consortium draft? Do you know how early?
R1 Consortium admit here. Reading all of the USC questions from R2 applicants leads me to drop an anecdote to relieve some of your anxiety.
I got admitted into USC, but the entire process from receipt of application to acceptance letter was VERY laggy. I think other Consortium R1 admits to USC can agree. I didn’t receive an interview invite until about 7 weeks after the R1 deadline. and also didn’t receive my official admissions letter until about 6 weeks after my interview. If this timeline is any indicator of how things will move for R2, I would advise to just be ready for your patience to be tested, but don’t lose hope!
The whole process is so interesting. I applied late to the consortium on 1/30 and got an invite from USC this week.
I've received confirmation emails from two other schools but haven't heard back at all from NYU, Emory, and Georgetown.
Did you find other schools lagged a bit?

It might be a lag because originally the Consortium date was 1/6 to closer align to Round 1? So I'm not sure how many people applied by the 1/30 date - I myself had no message from the Consortium that apps were even extended!
Thanks! I just received another invite. I think it may depend on the school, and since my app was late, you're right. It may take longer at some schools.
I didn’t know about the extension until they emailed me to inform me that I had until the 31st to submit. Of course, applying by the 5th is still best, so hopefully I still hear from the remaining schools.
I feel like a kid counting down to their birthday waiting on these decision dates 😂.

Congrats on all of the interviews! If all goes well and you have your pick of the litter where will you go?

Haha Thanks! And I have absolutely no idea! It changes by the hour honestly. I’m really liking Haas and Ross right now, but yesterday I was really liking Darden.
jbca Also... congrats on all of your interviews too! Do you have a top choice/know how you will choose?

Thank you! Was definitely a team effort. Tons of students and friends lent a hand and I'll owe a lot of my success to them if it works out.
That's a tough question. At first I was 100% set on Fuqua; however, everyone at Ross has been amazing as of late so I'm torn. I have a friend who went to UVA and they absolutely loved it; however, I am freaked out by the workload. Yikes...that makes me sound lazy.

For sure! None of us are in this alone .
And yes, the people at Ross have been amazing! They’ve been so helpful throughout this process, which is why I really like them too. I had a conversation with a Ross alum yesterday and he said it’s going to be an incredibly tough decision, but he recommended speaking with alumni after the decisions start rolling in to help inform where you really want to be!
