Anybody applying to regular decision this month? Is there an advantage to applying earlier?

I’m applying regular decision. Planning on submitting first week of September. I think the advantage would be your application will be on top of the pile when they get to RD applications end of November. I’m just slightly nervous that it might appear that Columbia is not my first choice since I’m applying RD before the ED deadline... does anyone have any experience / advice regarding this?

I am planning on applying in RD

Not sure if it would appear so, but its better to apply post ED round say 7th Oct, still your application will be on the top as far as I know

Right, but if one applies say late Aug, then their application would obviously be reviewed before someone who applied Oct 7th right?
